Through the support of Isabel Bader Centre for Performing Arts (IBCPA) and their 2020 IMAGINE Project, a video premiere performance of John Burge’s composition, Flight 752 Elegies, was broadcast on the IBCPA Digital Concert Hall on December 2, 2021.  This 30-minute work was written in memorial to the victims of shooting down by the Iranian military of Ukrainian Airlines Flight PS752 and includes texts written by the 13th-century Islamic mystical poet, Rumi. The performance features Sadaf Amini on santur (a hammered dulcimer type of instrument common to Iran), solo soprano and Dan School faculty member, Colleen Renihan, John Burge playing percussion, and the Kingston Chamber Choir, all led by conductor and Dan School faculty member, Darrell Christie.
