Kelsey completed her PhD at the University of Toronto’s Centre for Drama, Theatre, and Performance Studies where her research considered audience perception and location of realness onstage in contemporary Canadian performance. She previously completed her MA (Distinction) in Theatre and Performance at Queen Mary, University of London where she studied audience reception of Renaissance metatheatre through a comparative spatial analysis, and her BA (Honours) at Queen’s University. She has been awarded numerous fellowships, scholarships, and prizes, including a Massey College Junior Fellowship for the past two years. Kelsey has presented her work at CATR, ATHE, and MATC, and published in All stages magazine and Canadian Theatre Review. She also spent time learning immersive theatre design with Punchdrunk theatre company, and dramaturgy as a Junior Researcher working in Research and Higher Education at Shakespeare’s Globe in London, UK. Kelsey is an active theatre practitioner in Toronto and currently sits on the Tarragon Theatre Education Board.
