Do you have a music background? Our ensembles are open to all Queen's students!
Pass an audition, then study and perform with us at The Queen's School of Music in one of our many exciting ensembles:
- ● Chamber Ensembles
- ● Flute Ensemble
- ● Choral Ensembles
- ● Wind Ensemble
- ● Keyboard Ensemble
- ● Symphony Orchestra
- ● Music Theatre Ensemble
Our ensemble courses involve weekly or bi-weekly coachings and a minimum of one evaluation and/or concert per term for all students. Credit (1.5 units each) is attained only through your regular attendance, active participation and ample preparation.
Students may register and participate in a maximum of two ensembles per year. The Polyhymnia (Choir) Ensemble is also offered at the Bader International Study Centre.
Our ensemble courses are available at the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year levels,
so you can continue your artistic progression throughout your time at Queen's.
Ensemble courses require an audition. After a successful audition, qualified instrumentalists, singers, and performers will receive permission from The Dan School to register for their preferred ensemble in SOLUS. Students will not be able to add these courses during the course selection period in the summer, because auditions take place during Orientation Week in September. Upon receipt of a permission code, students will enrol in the large, medium, or small ensemble course code equivalent to their academic level or year.
