Ear Training and Sight Singing 1 [MUSC 127]

This course is designed to help students' listening skills through identifying intervals, diatonic scales, Modes, chords and harmonic progressions aurally and in written dictation through a step-by-step progression.  Lectures will demonstrate how to listen to, and approach patterns and structure in both melodic and harmonic examples.

PREREQUISITE:  Registration in a MUTH or MUSC Specialization Plan, 9or MUSC 104/3.0 or permission from the department.

FOR FALL 2020 REMOTE DELIVERY:

We will revise the format of this course to accommodate remote teaching/learning.  Two hours a week will be “live” via Zoom for exercises on structured listening and one hour will be assigned to the individual needs of students.
