Flute Choir [MUSC 112, 212, 312, 412]

MUSC 112, 212, 312, 412/1.5

Performance experience for flute students in a medium-sized ensemble of 6-20 players. Course includes weekly rehearsals of a wide variety of repertoire for flute, rotating through members of the flute instrument family (including orchestral flute, piccolo, alto flute, and bass flute). This course will involve a minimum of one concert per term for all students enrolled.

Students in this course will increase their familiarity with flute genres, repertoire, and rehearsal techniques, for use in a performance or educational setting. There is an expectation of both in-class participation and significant preparation of repertoire outside of class. Rehearsals and performances will build participants’ experience in group music-making towards a desired artistic outcome as well as build leadership experience within larger settings.
