A Workshop by Lois Adamson
This workshop is about what it means to create Relaxed Performances and ASL-Interpreted Performances to better welcome D/deaf people, people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families and friends to the theatre. The focus is on the role of theatre practitioners as both non-experts in and instigators of accessibility practices in establishing new relationships, partnerships and ways of working within a professional theatre context. Through a combination of lecture, case study analysis and discussion, we will explore the practice and impact of implementing these types of performance events.
