The Orchard (After Chekhov)

Parmar re-writes Anton Chekhov’s play into the Basran family on a fruit farm in B.C.’s Okanagan Valley.   Her dramaturgy negotiates immigration and Indigeneity on these territories looking back to the seventies. The play premiered at the Shaw Festival during the 2018 season and will be produced at the Arts Club in Vancouver in the spring of 2019.
