House Guest 3 is back at Macpherson House this Holiday Season!

In a 200-year old house, you never know who may come to visit!

Returning for a third year in a row but with an entirely new cast and story, House Guest is an immersive room-by-room play set during the holiday season in the historic Macpherson House. As famous and forgotten characters from three eras in the Macpherson House history are faced with changing times and family transitions, they find ways to look to their community to celebrate the holidays. House Guest explores how the places we share can hold us together—and help us imagine new ways of being a family. House Guest invites its audience to enjoy playful historical fiction from inside the beautiful Macpherson House surrounded by candlelight and dressed for the holiday season.

House Guest is created by and starring Kingston-based emerging artists and Queen’s University DAN School of Drama and Music students Jonathan Greene, Julia Samer Hanna, Atia Ahmed, Ava D’Apollonio, Marie Raftery, Charlise Varrette, and Temperence Lynch supervised by DAN School professor and Cellar Door Project artistic director Dr Mariah (Mo) Horner. Candle-lit performances of House Guest take place on November 26, December 3, and December 10 at the Macpherson House in Napanee.

Cost: $10/person (All sales are final. No refunds. Tickets can be transfered to a friend; please call the Museum to arrange this if necessary). 

Advanced tickets sales only. Please arrive no more than 15 minutes before your scheduled tour time. Recommended Audience: Ages 8+, performances are set in a historic setting, audience will move from room to room, including upstairs. Accessibility is limited and the house visible in dim lighting only.
