Pandemic Preparedness: Lessons for Canada From Across the G7 is a report produced as part of the Pandemic Preparedness in the Live Performing Arts project. This study, funded by British Academy, aimed to evaluate industry and government response to the COVID-19 pandemic across the G7 countries with the aim of improving the culture sector’s preparedness for future crises.

From April 2023 to April 2024, a UK-led research team with partners in the USA, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, and Japan engaged in a comparative, international study to examine pandemic responses and offer insight into the lessons learned.

Queen’s University researchers have developed a specific Canada-focused report and a set of recommendations intended to help governments, funders, unions and sector organizations to move the live performing arts forward into a more resilient future.
