Naomi Campbell has been working in the performing arts in Canada for over 35 years, specializing in the development and curation of new Canadian performance works across various disciplines, with an emphasis on theatre. Most recently she served as Artistic Director of Luminato Festival Toronto, leading the programming team of Toronto’s international festival of art and creativity from 2018 to 2023. She hasextensive experience in national and international touring and relationship-building, and has consulted on organizational strategies for independent artists and companies, working in a wide range of contexts and circumstances, across Canada.
Naomi currently works as a creative producer, dramaturg, consultant, teacher and mentor with a number of organizations and artists across the country. Over her career she has developed and produced numerous multi-award-winning projects, and has wonDora Mavor Moore Awards for both Outstanding Production and Set Design, and the Victor Martyn Lynch-Staunton Award, Mallory Gilbert Leadership Award, Leonard McHardy and John Harvey Award, and a Vital Peoples Award.
She has a degree in Political Science from the University of Toronto and additional training in Accessibility for the Performing Arts through the British Council. She has taught at the National Theatre School for over 10 years and has delivered workshops at U of T, Langara College, and through various professional organizations.
