Jarred Dunn is the winner of international competitions: First Prize and Concerto Award at Lithuanian Chopin International Competition, prizewinner of Hoffman International Piano Competition, Vitti, Rome, and Verona International Competitions (piano, chamber music). His discography includes Chopin and Debussy (AFA), Brahms: in Solitude, Chopin’s Diary: The Mazurkas (Lexicon), and others. He performs as a recitalist, chamber musician and soloist with orchestras in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, including NOSPR Katowice, Niagara, Sinfonia Toronto, Toruń, Budapest Chamber, and Vilnius Chamber Symphony Orchestras. He is an Artist-Faculty at the International Piano and Chamber Music Week (Switzerland) and Brahms Festival (Austria). He judges in national and international piano competitions. He teaches master classes and lectures at The Juilliard School, Royal College of Music, Oberlin College-Conservatory, SMU Meadows School of the Arts, Chetham’s School of Music, Katowice Academy, Bydgoszcz Academy, Vilnius New Music Academy, Tonebase Piano, and pre-colleges across Canada, the USA, Australia, and Europe. His award-winning publications include articles in CMEA, Canadian Music Educator, and Piano Magazine (Clavier), Henryk Mikołaj Górecki’s Piano Music (Rowman and Littlefield).
He graduated from the University of Toronto with the Forsyth Award for meritorious pianistic achievement (MusBacPerf, BEd). He continued his studies at The Juilliard School with Jacob Lateiner and Yoheved Kaplinsky. He graduated with Distinction from Katowice Academy (MM, Dip) where he studied piano with Anna Górecka and chamber music with Urszula Stańczyk. He completed his Artist Diploma at Bydgoszcz Academy of Music where he was a pupil of Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń. His other important mentors are Andrei Gavrilov, Maria João-Pires, Dorothy Taubman, Robert Levin, and Andrzej Jasiński. While pursuing his Doctorate at McGill University, he was invited to its Faculty, where he currently teaches. He is recognized with numerous scholarships, grants, and awards for his pianistic, pedagogical, and scholarly achievements, including CAC, Aspen, Teacher Recognition Award (RTO), FRQSC. He is on the Alumni Committee of Aspen Music Festival and School.
