Sarah Yunji Moon arrives at Queen’s from the University of Saskatchewan and the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra, where she has been Principal Flute since 2016. A sought-after recitalist and chamber and orchestra musician, Moon made her solo debut at age 11 with the Seoul Philharmonic. Known for her intensity and technical virtuosity, she has played with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and held Principal Flute position in Symphony Nova Scotia in Halifax for two seasons from 2008 until 2010. An innovator and ambassador for contemporary music, Moon performs with the Thin Edge New Music Collective and is the founder of the Rosedale Winds, a group committed to performing pieces from the woodwind quintet repertoire of the late twentieth and twenty-first century. She holds a Master of Music degree in Contemporary Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University. She is currently completing a Doctorate in Musical Arts at the University of Toronto.
