Clelia Scala is an award–winning multidisciplinary artist and designer whose work includes mask and puppet design, story design, sculpture, collage, illustration, and installation.
She has designed and fabricated masks, puppets, and props for musicians, performance artists, films, and publications. In theatre, she has worked with a range of companies and institutions including Bad New Days, Geordie Theatre, Guilty by Association, Lemon Bucket Orkestra, Odyssey Theatre, Theatre Kingston, and Yale University. Her visual art has been exhibited in galleries across Canada and the United States, including the Agnes Etherington Art Centre, the Centre for Puppetry Arts, and the Woodstock Art Gallery.
Clelia's publications include collage work for Alice Through the Working Class (BlazeVox, 2024) and Alice in Plunderland (BookThug, 2015) by Steve McCaffery, and for I Can Say Interpellation (BookThug, 2011) by Stephen Cain. She received the City of St. Catharines Established Artist Award (2019) and a Dora Mavor Moore Award (2025) as part of the design team for Last Landscape.
