DSDM professor Dean Burry travelled to Naples, Italy in June 2023 (supported by a Queen's SSHRC Institutional Grant) to continue work on Tracing Colville. In 2019 Burry followed the war time journey of iconic Canadian painter Alex Colville to England, France, Holland and Germany and composed Tracing Colville for full orchestra which premiered with the Kingston Symphony Orchestra on October 30, 2022. Burry's research are leading to a Tracing Colville Symposium at the Beaverbrook Gallery in Fredricton in the fall of 2024 and a book on the subject.
