The Department of Drama emphasizes a balanced approach in which theory informs practice and practice informs theory. We study all aspects of theatre, from acting and directing to theatre history and dramatic literature, from playwriting and design to technical production and administration, and we offer students many opportunities to work on productions throughout their time at Queen's.
Our music degree plans provide an inclusive and welcoming environment for students who wish to explore music as a medium for intellectual and personal growth and expression. We encourage our students to develop high-level performance skills while at the same time building crucial music and academic literacy, expanding their expertise both at the School and in the Kingston community.
This demanding “triple threat” Music Theatre program provides students with theoretical and practical training both in the three core disciplines of acting, singing and dancing, and also in the study of music theatre as a liberal arts subject. It is a collaborative degree-diploma program based on a partnership between St. Lawrence College in Brockville and Queen's University in Kingston.
