Music/Theatre Program

Join Us At The Dan School

for a unique educational experience at the intersections of theatre, music, and dance.

Why study Music Theatre at the Dan School?

In this demanding “triple threat” program you’ll acquire theoretical and practical training in acting, singing and dancing, and also in the study of music theatre as a liberal arts subject. Hone your performance skills in front of audiences, in studio, in main stage productions and in unique productions, and learn to create and produce original theatrical pieces.

The BMT Program

The Bachelor of Music Theatre (BMT) is a joint program between St Lawrence College (SLC) and the DAN School of Drama and Music at Queen’s. Students spend their first two years at St Lawrence College receiving industry-standard training in music theatre performance and the next two years at Queen’s studying music theatre as a liberal arts subject.

The joint program combines technical proficiency with intellectual inquiry, encouraging students to explore how they can combine performance with other music theatre practices (i.e. playwriting, producing, directing, design, academic study, classical voice, composition, etc) in their artistic practice as music theatre makers.
