Queen's Orchestra

Queen’s Orchestra: MUSC 115, 215, 315, 415/1.5 units

Director - Wolf Tormann 

The Queen’s Orchestra is directed by Wolf Tormann and is open to Queen’s University students who play an orchestral instrument after passing a successful audition. String players in particular are encouraged to apply. 

All audition excerpts are from Bruckner Symphony No.4. Please note that there are separate excerpts for violin 1 and violin 2. This Symphony will be performed at the end of the Fall term together with Grieg's piano concerto in a minor. At the end of the Winter term there will be a collaboration with the Choral Ensemble and five works composed by Queen's University composition students to be performed.

NOTE: Students will be registered into the course number that matches their current level of study. (i.e: if a student is in third year they will be registered in MUSC 315). Auditions must be submitted by June 22, 2024. See audition excerpts below.
